Spoken parts from the piece, The Thing About Expectations

While I was in India, I connected with my family through texts and voice recordings. I was curious to hear my voice from the beginning of my time there and I felt called to go listen to what I recorded and shared.

While scanning the thread, I found and heard these pieces.  I recorded them one night when I was in my room writing the piece The Thing About Expectations. I had written about my experience in my journal after it happened. Then, typing it out weeks after and reading the words out loud presented me with a different way to see it. In the written form, on a screen, I was seeing the experience with a new perspective. I was no longer angry, worked up and mad, instead I found myself laughing.  In my delight, I recorded pieces for my family to hear. Now, here, I am sharing them for you to enjoy.
